Charl van den Berg hails from the City of Bloemfontein (although I have to say I was only born there!). After working as a restaurant manager at one of Cape Town's leading gay-friendly restaurants he went on to win the Mr Gay South Africa 2009 Competition and Mr Gay World 2010 competition three months later, becoming the first South African Male to win a global competition of this prestigious nature.
After handing over his title to yet ANOTHER SA man, he is still actively involved in the LGBTI community.
